Field Theoretical Approach to the Formation of Junctions of Cosmic Strings

Superstring theory predicts potential of networks of string defects with junctions. Kinematical constraints for junction formation have been derived based on string action. Here we test these numerically within the framework of Abelian Higgs model and report good agreement with analytical predictions.
