Location

The conference will be held in the Blackett Laboratory (Department of Physics) of Imperial College London, located in the South Kensington campus. It is ideally situated in the heart of the museum and shopping districts and right beside Hyde Park, allowing you to make the most of your visit while at the symposium.

Getting Here

Imperial College is conveniently located for all of London’s international airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and City) as well as the Eurostar terminal at Waterloo station. The nearest underground stations are Gloucester Road and South Kensington on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines. There is a direct underground connection from Heathrow Airport to these stations (Piccadilly line).

More information about public transportation, including an online Journey Planner, is available on the Transport for London website. It is recommended to get an electronic Oyster card or a weekly Travelcard rather than paying by cash. Depending on where you live, you may be able to buy your tickets online before you arrive. Driving to Imperial College is not recommended, since parking charges are high and the college is inside the Congestion Charge zone.

Imperial College is located next to the Royal Albert Hall, Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum, so that it is easy to visit them even during the lunch break. Similarly, it is only a few minutes’ walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The shopping areas of Kensington High Street and Knightsbridge (including the Harrods department store) are also within easy walking distance.
